These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the MealPace mobile application ("MealPace", "the app", "we", "our", or "us").
By downloading or using MealPace, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Important
Medical disclaimer
MealPace is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Nutrition estimates generated from meal photos and public nutrition databases may be incomplete or inaccurate.
MealPace supports healthy aging awareness only and is not for diagnosing or ruling out any condition.
Always consult your physician or registered dietitian before making dietary or treatment decisions.
Never ignore or delay professional medical advice because of information shown in the app.
1. Eligibility
MealPace is intended only for adults age 18 and older.
By using the app, you confirm that you meet the age requirement and are legally permitted to accept these Terms.
2. What MealPace does
MealPace helps users review estimated protein intake across meals with coaching designed for calm, dignified support.
Outputs are informational and depend on user-provided information, photo quality, and database coverage.
MealPace is not a calorie-first tracker and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical nutrition therapy.
3. Kidney disease caution
MealPace may not be appropriate for people who must limit protein for medical reasons, including many kidney disease care plans.
If a clinician has told you to limit protein, please follow their guidance. Aura Bionics also offers KidneyBite for kidney-aware tracking.
4. Subscriptions & billing
MealPace offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple's App Store.
Current public plans:
- Free tier with limited lifetime AI meal scans and unlimited manual logging
- Weekly Pro: USD $6.99 per week
- Yearly Pro: USD $59.99 per year
MealPace does not offer a monthly subscription tier or a separate Family bundle.
There is no free trial on paid tiers; the Free plan includes 5 lifetime AI scans.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple ID subscription settings.
You may cancel anytime in:
iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
To avoid renewal charges, disable auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends.
Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.
Paid features may include tiered AI meal scans (Weekly Pro up to 25 per week; Yearly Pro up to 100 per month), plus:
- Protein Memory Engine personalization
- Optional Apple Health dietary protein writes
- Soft-food aware suggestions and repeat meal shortcuts
- Personalized coaching tone
- Optional caregiver digest emails on Yearly Pro when opted in
Feature limits and pricing may change over time. Material changes may be communicated inside the app.
The free tier currently includes 5 lifetime AI scans plus unlimited manual logging as described in-app.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to interfere with the app or related services
- Use the app for unlawful purposes
- Use MealPace as a substitute for professional medical care
- Upload abusive content in ways that disrupt the service
6. Intellectual property
MealPace, including branding, software, icons, and related materials, is owned by Aura Bionics.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal use only.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how data is processed and protected and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
MealPace is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee that nutrition estimates, meal analysis, or app functionality will always be accurate, complete, available, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura Bionics is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or health-related damages arising from use of the app.
If liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the subscription period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If material changes are made, the "Last updated" date will be revised and additional notice may be provided inside the app.
Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, except where local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
