Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the KidneyBite mobile application ("KidneyBite", "the app", "we", "our", or "us").

By downloading or using KidneyBite, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

KidneyBite is intended only for adults age 18 and older.

By using the app, you confirm that you meet the app's age requirement and are legally permitted to accept these Terms.

2. What KidneyBite does

KidneyBite helps users review estimated phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and protein values from meal photos.

Results are personalized using the CKD stage selected by the user and are presented as informational caution estimates such as Low, Moderate, or High.

These outputs are not clinical determinations or treatment recommendations.

3. Subscriptions & billing

KidneyBite offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple's App Store.

Current plans:

• Weekly Pro: USD $6.99 per week
• Annual Pro: USD $59.99 per year

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple ID subscription settings.

You may cancel at any time in:

iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

To avoid renewal charges, disable auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends.

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.

KidneyBite does not currently offer free trials for paid subscriptions.

Pro features may include:

• Higher meal analysis limits
• Detailed nutrient breakdowns
• Stage-aware targets and trends
• Full meal history
• Weekly charts
• PDF exports
• Optional Apple Health integration

Feature limits and pricing may change over time. Material changes may be communicated inside the app.

The free version currently includes limited meal analyses and limited history access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer or attempt to interfere with the app or related services
• Use the app for unlawful purposes
• Use KidneyBite as a substitute for professional medical care
• Upload non-food or abusive content in ways that disrupt the service

5. Intellectual property

KidneyBite, including its branding, software, icons, and related materials, is owned by Aura Bionics.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal use only.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how data is processed and protected and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

KidneyBite is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee that nutrition estimates, meal analysis, or app functionality will always be accurate, complete, available, or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura Bionics is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or health-related damages arising from use of the app.

If liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the subscription period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If material changes are made, the "Last updated" date will be revised and additional notice may be provided inside the app.

Continued use of KidneyBite after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, except where local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
